Uniondale lies adjacent to the Langkloof, which winds its way through the foothills of the of the Tsitsikamma Mountain range in an area renowned for its scenic drives. Uniondale came into being when the two towns of Hopedale and Lyon became one in 1856.

Schulteheim Hotel
Schulteheim Hotel is a newly renovated establishment located in Uniondale. It dates back to 1884. The property has been renovated from roof to floor, with plans to bring the building back to its former glory.

The accommodation consists of 17 en-suite rooms and one private Cottage. For groups, the  establishment can accommodate up to 72 guests at a time making it ideal for large groups passing through Uniondale. Room facilities include tea and coffee-making facilities, with some rooms featuring TVs with DStv access. On-site amenities also include a conference venue, restaurant and bar.

Uniondale is the middle point between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, and for travellers en route to the Baviaanskloof and Prince Alfred’s Pass. The area and surrounding routes boast important historical, environmental and cultural aspects. The nearby Uniondale Golf Course will provide avid sportsmen a lovely time teeing off on a nine-hole course.
